Exciting New Features of the Upcoming DJI Mic 2 Revealed

The tech world is buzzing with excitement as new details and photos of the DJI Mic 2 have been leaked over the weekend. Thanks to Igor Bogdanov, aka Quadro News, we now have a clearer picture of what to expect from this second-generation microphone from DJI. With its anticipated release possibly as early as January 17th, the DJI Mic 2 is already generating considerable interest.

The newly leaked specifications showcase the DJI Mic 2’s impressive capabilities. It features an omnidirectional polar pattern and a frequency response ranging from 50 Hz to 20 kHz with a low cut-on, and 100 Hz to 20 kHz with a low cut-off. Its maximum sound pressure level (SPL) is a robust 120 dB SPL, and the max input level at the 3.5 mm jack is -6 dBV with less than 0.1% THD. The equivalent noise level is quite low at 21 dBA, ensuring clear audio capture.

In terms of hardware, the DJI Mic 2 comes with a charging case that measures 116×41.5×59.72 mm and weighs 200 g. The case is powered by a 3250 mAh Li-ion battery, providing approximately two charging cycles for two transmitters and one receiver simultaneously. The charging time for the case is around 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Both the transmitter and receiver of the DJI Mic 2 are compact and lightweight, each weighing 28 g. They operate on GFSK 1 Mbps and 2 Mbps wireless modes with an operating frequency range of 2.400-2.4835 GHz. Each unit is powered by a 360 mAh Li-ion battery, offering up to 6 hours of operating time. The charging time for these units is 70 minutes.
