The Bulgarian company, Samel-90, has started producing a new one-way attack unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) known as SAMJET. This drone, created with help from Swiss defense experts ALIDRONE SAGL, is designed to be both cost-effective and quick to produce, reports Defence Blog. Its design is similar to the Iranian Shahed-136 drone.

The SAMJET is a modern loitering munition drone with autonomous takeoff supported by rocket engines. It is built for high-speed flight, reaching speeds between 70 and 150 mph. One key feature is that it needs no assembly, ensuring ease of use. All units can be controlled with a common ground control station, displaying the drone’s position and camera feed on a map.

The drone’s forward-facing camera is stabilized on three axes. This allows for precise movement and zoom control, which is crucial for identifying and confirming targets during the attack. The camera and its controls give operators clear imagery, providing enhanced operational precision.

The SAMJET also has a significant range, capable of traveling up to several hundred kilometers. This long range, combined with its high speed, adds to its versatility and effectiveness in military operations. The integration of a common ground control station ensures that military personnel can efficiently manage multiple units.

The production of the SAMJET highlights the advancements in suicide drones and their importance. These drones, like SAMJET, offer increased operational flexibility and precision, making them valuable assets for military strategies. The streamlined production process and advanced features position the SAMJET as a significant addition to modern warfare tools, demonstrating the technological progress in drone manufacturing.
