India’s gearing up for a major military upgrade with a multi-billion dollar drone deal with the US. The talks are heating up as PM Modi and President Biden huddle in Washington. What Makes These Drones Special?
The MQ-9B drones aren’t your average flying machines. These babies can stay airborne for over 40 hours, laugh in the face of bad weather, and play nice with civilian air traffic. They’re versatile too – capable of everything from disaster relief to submarine hunting.
General Atomics, the brains behind these drones, says they can be kitted out for all sorts of missions. We’re talking search and rescue, maritime awareness, electronic warfare, and long-range strategic ISR (that’s Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance for the uninitiated).
