This is the iFlight CineFlow 5, and today I’ll tell you all about it. Get ready for some excitement as we explore this drone’s features and performance.

Design and Features

The CineFlow 5 is a 5-inch freestyle/cinematic drone equipped with the O4 Air Unit Pro, positioned at the front for optimal cooling. It includes an integrated M10 GPS module, discreetly placed just in front of the antennas. These antennas are notably longer, a feature I appreciate as it enhances signal strength and penetration, especially with the O4 Air Unit Pro. I encourage more companies to adopt longer antennas on 5-inch drones, as they make a significant difference. The drone also features quick-release side panels to protect its internal electronics.

Electronics and Performance

The CineFlow 5 is powered by a Blitz Mini F7 flight controller and a Blitz E55R 4-in-1 ESC with a 65-amp max burst current, ideal for powerful punches and dives. Its deadcat frame design ensures no props are visible, perfect for cinematic shots. The H-shaped frame is sturdy, rigid, and doesn’t flex, giving the drone a robust feel. The stock tune is excellent, requiring no adjustments to settings or rates—it performs flawlessly out of the box. With just 17% throttle needed to hover, it’s highly efficient yet doesn’t lack power.

GPS and Flight Experience

The integrated GPS is a standout feature. While I typically wouldn’t add GPS to a 5-inch drone, I now rely on it, especially in uniform environments where landmarks blend together. The GPS provides a home point direction via a DVR screen arrow, reducing stress and enhancing navigation. This drone excels in both freestyle and cinematic flying, delivering power for hard punches and dives without compromising smoothness. It feels like a 6-inch drone due to its smooth flight and prop-free view, tackling any challenge effortlessly.

Drawbacks: O4 Air Unit Pro ND Filters

One downside involves the O4 Air Unit Pro ND provided by iFlight. They produce a noticeable purple tint in the footage corners, which persists even with automatic or manual camera settings and white balance adjustments. This tint disappears without the filters, but their poor quality is disappointing, especially given their cost. I plan to address this issue with iFlight, as it needs improvement.

Battery and Footage

Using a 1500 mAh battery, I get about 5 minutes of flight time, which is sufficient. Heavier batteries (1800 or 2000 mAh) can be used for extended flights, but I find them unnecessary for just an extra minute or two. The O4 Air Unit Pro delivers exceptional footage, eliminating the need for an additional action camera. An action camera mount is included, which aids in turtle mode during crashes by providing an extra pivot point, though I rarely use it for mounting a camera like the Osmo Action 5 Pro, as the O4 footage is comparable.

Final Thoughts

The iFlight CineFlow 5 combines the power of a 5-inch drone with the smooth flight of a 6-inch model, making it ideal for both freestyle and cinematic pilots. It’s perfect for my style—occasional flips, rolls, dives, and split S maneuvers—offering a balanced, versatile experience. Check out the footage and details via the link in the description. I highly recommend the CineFlow 5 and would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. This is Mike from . Thank you for reading. Never stop flying, and I’ll see you soon. Ciao.
