DJI Mini 5 Pro: official description, full specifications and release date

Time to drop the really big bomb on the DJI Mini 5 Pro. After months of speculation, boxes, images and video, today I finally stumbled upon the official full DJI Mini 5 webshop description. Some spanish webshop leaked the promotional talk; including 10-bit, 4K HDR, Night return and all smart functions. So please -Hold my beer- because this is the point where you need to sit down and I will tell you everything you possibly want to know about the Mini 5 Pro. Cheers, Jasper.

BREAKING: DJI TEASES “OWN THE MOMENT” AHEAD OF OSMO NANO LAUNCH

With a 2x zoom, the new 48mm Med-Tele mode now offers a higher image resolution than the digital zoom of the previous DJI Mini Pro series. The subjects stand out with greater texture, which adds depth to your aerial shots.

With DJI’s portrait optimization technology, the DJI Mini 5 Pro enhances the brightness, contrast and skin tones of portraits. Whether it’s a group photo or a spontaneous moment, the portraits look naturally radiant with more vivid expressions. Part 3: DJI Mini 5 – Compact but cinematic

HDR 4K/60 FPS video
HDR video mode offers up to 14 dynamic range steps, allowing you to capture cinematic images in high-contrast scenes, such as detailed views of cloud textures and other elements during sunrise and sunset.

Slow motion video 4K/120 fps
The Mini 5 Pro supports slow motion video recording at 4K/120 fps, ensuring impressive clarity and fluidity with high resolution and frame rates. Dynamic details come to life, adding impact to images and providing greater creative flexibility in post-production.

10-bit video and high ISO performance
Even in normal color mode, the Mini 5 Pro can record 10-bit video using H.265 encoding, which offers refined color performance and greater flexibility in post-production, with a maximum ISO high at 12800. In D-Log M and HLG color modes, the maximum ISO rises to 3200, allowing for greater brightness and more detail in urban night scenes.

Part 4: DJI Mini 5 – Safe flight with omnidirectional obstacle detection in night landscapes

The Mini 5 Pro features a forward-facing LiDAR and multiple vision sensors for omnidirectional detection of obstacles in night landscapes, making the return to the starting point safer. In urban night landscapes, actively detect and avoid obstacles along flight and return routes for a worry-free night flight. With enough light, you can memorize flight routes, allowing safe take-off and return even without a satellite signal.

Equipped with a forward-facing LiDAR, the Mini 5 Pro features fisheye lenses on the front and rear to detect forward, backward, left, right and upward. The bottom is equipped with binocular lenses and a 3D infrared sensor, which allows omnidirectional obstacle detection.

Night RTH
With the LiDAR facing forward, the Mini 5 Pro detects obstacles such as tall buildings even in low light conditions and intelligently maneuvers upwards, ensuring a safer return during night flights.

RTH without GNSS
Thanks to real-time visual positioning and map building technologies, the Mini 5 Pro memorizes flight routes when there is enough lighting. This guarantees a safe return even when taking off from places without satellite signals, such as balconies.

Part 5: DJI Mini 5 – Improved 360° ActiveTrack

With L1 + L5 dual-band GNSS, the Mini 5 Pro connects to more satellites, which improves signal stability and positioning accuracy. The Mini 5 Pro captures all the highlights, wherever you are. The improved ActiveTrack 360° offers customizable tracking across scenarios and offers more stable and secure tracking performance.

Follow-up in multiple scenarios:
Mini 5 Pro detects sports scenarios and automatically selects Cycling or Standard mode for optimal framing and tracking. In Standard mode, the drone follows your trajectory in real time, maintaining a constant altitude and distance. In Cycling mode, react quickly to turns and speed changes to keep you focused and perfectly framed.

Smoother and safer tracking: Tracking performance has been improved to balance speed, agility, and security. In open areas, the maximum tracking speed has been increased to 15 m/s for a faster response. In complex environments, the drone can switch to rear tracking mode, keeping the subject constantly focused and allowing creative freedom with confidence.

MasterShots
Provides professional pre-recorded motion configurations for the camera according to user needs.

QuickShots
It supports several modes, such as QuickShot Rotate, Dronie, Circle, Helix, Rocket, Boomerang and Asteroid, allowing you to easily record short videos with style.

Free Panorama
Compatible with Free Panorama, which allows you to create seamless panoramic photographs by joining multiple images with a manually selected subject or area.

Off-State QuickTransfer
The Mini 5 Pro supports remote wake-up via the DJI Fly app within Bluetooth range. Without the need to take out the drone or the remote control, files can be transferred at a speed of up to 100 MB/s via Wi-Fi 6. Even when switching to other applications, the DJI Fly app continues to download in the background.

Part 7: Mini 5 Pro set for September 17th

With the soft pricing from 819 to 1159 euros for the DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo (RC2) DJI really did everything they could to create the best all in one (inch) drone below 249 grams for a reasonable price. Its almost impossible to understand they managed to put almost every DJI Air 3S and Mavic 4 feature inside their best selling line (the mini’s) … And with that it’s worth to mention that it is a real shame DJI is being banned from the United States and it will be very hard for people to get their hands on this little monster. On September 17th, the Mini 5 Pro is set to launch, so hopefully some miracles will happen and we can order it anyway. I will keep you posted!
