In an emergency situation, when every second counts, making the right decision quickly can mean the difference between life or death. The DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual gives firefighters a tactical advantage as it can help pinpoint the exact location of a fire inside a building or structure. It's a launch that gives firefighters a tactical edge. The DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual has an infrared camera and starts sending data immediately.

“Instead of doing a rule-out method — the traditional method of it's not here, it's not here — we can tell them this is exactly this is where the fire is,” Craft said. “It revolutionizes how we go about things from tactics to planning to everything.”

The Wink reporter met with the fire department at a district training facility. During the training session, a fire was ignited.

“The drone is right outside of the fire. The temp is 200,” Craft said. “We could immediately tell the crews where the fire is.”

Craft uses his radio to communicate the exact location of the fire so that the firefighters can respond quicker and more effectively.

“What would take 10 people, this takes one person to do and utilize,” Craft said.

The North Collier County Fire Control and Rescue District currently only has one drone but they are looking to add unmanned aircraft to help them save lives and save time. The drone is also used for missions.

“It's safety for our firefighters,” said Heather Mazurkiewicz, public information officer with North Collier County Fire Rescue. “It's safety for our residents. We're able to suppress the fires quicker.”
