Allen, Texas is about to become a serious node on the U.S. drone map. EagleNXT, formerly AgEagle Aerial Systems, is relocating its global headquarters from Kansas to a 33,000 square foot facility at 505 Century Parkway, with operations scheduled to begin in May, as Dallas News reports.

The move brings engineering, customer support, marketing, and drone production under one roof, a consolidation designed to speed up development and improve collaboration. A grand opening is planned for April, with phased production startup to follow shortly after.

City officials see the relocation as another signal that Allen is becoming a magnet for advanced manufacturing and aerospace technology. EagleNXT plans to employ at least 25 people at the site within the next two years.

U.S. Production Line for eBee VISION Drone

The Allen facility will host EagleNXTโ€™s first ever U.S. production line for the eBee VISION drone, a fixed wing surveillance platform designed for intelligence, reconnaissance, and security missions.

The eBee VISION can be deployed by a single operator in under three minutes, delivers live 4K video, supports 32x optical zoom and thermal imaging, and has a range of up to 12 miles. With a flight time of up to 90 minutes and a weight under 3.5 pounds, it is designed for backpack portability in tactical environments.

According to EagleNXT, the drone has already been tested by special forces in the United States and Europe. Units from the U.S. Army, the French Army, and the Danish Ministry of Defense have reportedly taken delivery of the platform.

By manufacturing the eBee VISION domestically, they aim to shorten delivery timelines and simplify procurement for government and parapublic customers.

Sensors, Agriculture, and Strategic Positioning

Beyond drones, the Allen headquarters will also manufacture MicaSense multispectral sensors, widely used in agriculture to monitor crop health and field conditions. This continues EagleNXTโ€™s roots in precision agriculture while expanding its footprint in defense and security markets.

CEO Bill Irby described the move as a strategic play to tap into North Texasโ€™ deep pool of aerospace, technology, and advanced manufacturing talent. He also framed the decision as aligned with broader efforts to strengthen domestic drone production in the United States.

The Allen production line will complement their existing manufacturing operation in Switzerland, creating a transatlantic production strategy that supports both commercial and government customers.

DroneXLโ€™s Take.

This move checks several important boxes at once. Domestic drone manufacturing, defense ready platforms, and a clear effort to reduce supply chain friction for government users. EagleNXT is not just changing addresses, it is repositioning itself for the next phase of the drone industry, where production location matters as much as performance.

Allen gains a high tech manufacturer with real hardware on the floor, not just offices and press releases. EagleNXT gains proximity to talent, infrastructure, and policy momentum that increasingly favors U.S. built drones. This is the kind of relocation that quietly reshapes the competitive map.
