It seems that the first new DJI drone of 2023 will be the “new” DJI Mini 2 SE. Long-time leaker DealsDrone shared this DJI teaser photo on Twitter this morning, showing the new DJI entry-level mini drone.

According to the DJI teaser, the new DJI Mini 2 SE is set to be released on February 9th, 2023. The teaser image shows the DJI mini drone sticking out of a jacket’s pocket as if the drone maker wants to emphasize the pocketability of the mini camera drone.

Unfortunately, we can’t really see that much of the new DJI Mini 2 SE in the photo, but based on what we can see, the drone seems to match the design of the original DJI Mini 2 that was launched in 2020.

It will be interesting to see at what price DJI makes the DJI Mini 2 SE available. The DJI Mini 3 sells for $469 (drone only) or for $559 with the DJI RC-N1 remote controller. And the DJI Mini 2 can still be bought at the DJI store for $449. So, for the DJI Mini 2 SE to be an appealing offer, it will have to be priced significantly below the DJI Mini 3 and the DJI Mini 2.

We expect the DJI Mini 2 SE to be available at large retailers such as Best Buy and Costco soon. Depending on the final specs, the DJI Mini 2 SE might be the perfect entry-level drone for people looking to get into the hobby (or profession).
