DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral Drone Receives Noteworthy Firmware Update

The Multispectral, commonly known as the Mavic 3M drone, has been revved up with a fresh firmware package. This enhancement is certainly one to watch out for.

On August 29, 2023, DJI rolled out the latest update for the Mavic 3M drone, elevating the aircraft firmware version to 07.01.10.03. This isn't just any ordinary update. This package is loaded with new features and significant refinements for the drone's remote controller.

Delving into the specifics, here's what DJI's release notes reveal:

For starters, users can now customize the JPEG image quality setting for the RGB camera. Additionally, there's a multispectral format setting available for the multispectral camera. Drone operators now have the choice between TIFF-16bit or TIFF-8bit.

Have you ever feared losing your drone after an emergency landing or sudden flyaway? The new Find My Drone function is here to the rescue, showcasing features like “position display and coordinate sharing.”

One of the standout additions is the option to view downloaded media in the Album, even with the aircraft disconnected. Furthermore, offline unlocking license imports and a Fixed Angle Shot for waypoint actions make the experience more immersive. The latter permits setting adjustments for the gimbal pitch, aircraft orientation, and camera digital zoom.

DJI hasn't stopped with additions. They've undertaken crucial optimizations like refining the DJI Pilot 2's user prompts and enhancing the Payload SDK for more extensive development capabilities. This update also brings improved support for third-party software by modifying the EXIF field.

Lastly, but equally vital, DJI advises all users to “Restart the aircraft and remote controller after the update is complete.” In case of any hiccups during the update, it's recommended to “restart the aircraft, remote controller, and DJI Pilot 2 or , and retry.”

In summary, this is an update that truly augments the Mavic 3M drone's capabilities, bridging the gap between innovative tech and user convenience.
